- AllOfMP3 Shut Down by Russian Government
The real news here is that the creators of AllOfMP3.com are already back online with a new service, MP3Sparks.com. - Universal in Dispute With Apple Over iTunes
NYT is reporting that Universal is apparently trying to play hardball with Apple over iTunes pricing, among other things. If Universal moves to a month-to-month agreement with Apple, the company could pull its music from iTunes on short notice. That’ll show ‘em. Er, except for the part where they’ve finally got their customers hooked on digital music, and iTunes is still the largest source of legal downloads, and now the third largest music retailer in the US. This story is a disaster in the making — for Universal, that is. - Apple web application lets you track iPhone availability
Another way is to get an iPhone is to be on vacation and randomly stop somewhere — say, San Luis Obispo — for lunch, and as you’re walking down the street looking for a place to eat, see an Apple Store that you had no idea even existed, so you figure what the frack? and go in, and it turns out that they have a whole bunch. So you go have a really good burger (and a Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale draft!) at a place called Mother’s Tavern, and then you go back to the Apple Store and they *still* have a whole bunch. So at that point you figure that you might as well give in to the gods of serendipity.
