Whaddya Gonna Do, Spoon Me To Death? Edition

Todays links of interest:

  • Fit to be tied: Peanuts, hot dogs and tea for Dodgers vs. Padres in China
The first MLB game ever played in China ends in a tie. Nothing like introducing your sport to the worlds most populous nation and not caring enough to play a few extra innings.
  • 1,700 Bands at SXSW
And let me tell you, ever single one of those band was downloading music and slowing down the Internet at our hotel.
  • Bebo acquisition could boost AOL
Or AOL could kill Bebo, which seems more likely.
  • Facebook Coming Under FBI Scrutiny For Online Gambling
First Second Life and now this. At this rate we might as well just move to Vegas.
  • SXSW: Not Much to Twitter About
Sarah Lacy continues to prove that she just doesn’t get it. 1) SXSW is not a "developer" conferences. That’s sort of like calling it a Mac users group. 2) The attacks against her were a result of her general cluelessness and had noting to do with her gender. Kathy Sierra and Jane McGonigal appeared on the very same stage in front of similarly huge crowds and were treated with the utmost respect. Probably because they both delivered brilliant presentations that connected with the audience in a meaningful way.
