Accidental Boobery Edition

Todays links of interest:

  • Kevin Garnett shows the world how to celebrate an NBA title
it turns out that channeling James Cagney is a key.
  • Exile in Guyville: The Oral History
Despite the nice joke in the title, not quite what we were hoping for. Since it’s one of those rare certified-classic-upon-arrival albums that still holds up 15 years later, maybe more about the songs themselves and less about Liz’s head space.
  • Weeds season debut sets Showtime ratings record
Beyond the fact that it’s a pretty funny show, there are a couple of reasons for this. One of which is that they were smart enough to release the Season 3 DVD early enough so that people could be totally caught up for the Season 4 premiere. The other is that HBO — hey, whatever happened to HBO?
  • EMI/Capitol Reissues Albums On Vinyl
Vinyl versions of long tail classics such as "Band on the Run" and "Pet Sounds" will be reissued for up to a pop. One one hand, that might seem outrageously expensive for records that are 35 - 45 years old and have never ever been out of print, but look at it from this standpoint: had vinyl been the primary format all of this time, these are exactly the prices that EMI/Capitol would be charging for these records.
