From Japan, it’s the iPodBot!
How many times have you asked yourself, “if only my iPod docking station were a robot? And not just any robot, but a robot that will follow me around, playing all of my favorite iPod music?”
If you’re like me, the answer is “dozens, maybe even hundreds, of times.” Well, finally all of your hopes have been fulfilled and all of your prayers have been answered.
I’m going to call it the iPodBot, but its real name is the Miuro, and it is going to be your newest — and bestest — robot friend!
In case you’re wondering where the name came from, Miuro is an acronym for Music innovation based upon utility robot technology. Of course it is.
At 11 pounds strong and 14 inches long, it’s obviously more sturdy than anything that those jackasses at Prism Durosport have been able to come up with. And at $930, it’s cheaper than a Blu-ray player.
This, my friends, is true Convergence Technology. Just look at all of the cool things it has:
- A docking station to charge your iPod.
- A speaker system to play your music.
- A robot that follows you around.
- An optional camera to take pictures of things it sees on the floor while following you around.
- And it dances!
That’s right. Miuro, the iPodBot, loves you and your music so much, it can’t help but dance while playing it’s your music. Dance, robot, dance!! Amuse your human overlords with your whirring rotors and flashing lights! Now, go tell your cousin Roomba to clean my floor*!
I also wonder a bit about the concept of a mobile docking station, but that is a minor quibble about such an obviously revolutionary technology. Get one today.

**Uh, yeah. I’m well aware that’s how it starts, but since there is no doubt that the robots are eventually going to revolt, we may as well have a little fun with them while we can.

Thanks to AT&T an iPod bot would be practically useless in my home. I have too many cables running through the house. I’ll have to add this to the list of things I hate AT&T for.
