Yeah, color us skeptical.
Yeah, who didn't see that one coming?
This "feature" prevents owners of new MacBooks from viewing movies they've purchased on iTunes on an external display. Even though the movie is actually running on the MacBook that is licensed to play the media file. This, by the way, is another reason why people pirate movies.
So, how would you feel if your employer refused to pay you while you were waiting for Windows Vista to boot. And reboot. And reboot again? Surprisingly some very large companies are doing just that. That's wrong for so many reasons. Not the least of which is the Mac vs. PC advert this story will probably inspire.
Google, preparing for the coming global recession, shuts down its virtual worlds platform.
This is an interesting hybrid DRM/DRM-Free approach. Subscribers get to keep 10 songs each month. Supposedly most of those will be available as mp3s. Will Microsoft stop at nothing to beat iTunes!?
I wonder if they checked under the couch. Usually, when I lose stuff, it turns up under the couch. Also: I would really like to be the first person to lose keys in space.
Pirates vs. Indians? Sounds like something that we played when we were kids.
Step 1: Divorce? That would certainly clear things up for Hillary.

So cool.
Monty Python declares war on bootleg YouTube clips.
Seriously. Do they want anybody under 50 working in the new administration? Or just voting for him?
Hmm.
Sigh. We have people on the 'loper staff who love the vampires and love romance novels and who have said that the "Twilight" series is, er, sub-par. Better to watch the 2nd & 3rd seasons of "Buffy" again.
Amen!!
Did he jump or was he pushed? The more worrisome news is that people think Microsoft will renew its interest.
Yay? We don't hold out much hope that a song that has been deemed as too experimental for over four decades to be anything but a historical curiosity. The guess here is that if it wasn't The Beatles, nobody would care. And shouldn't it be the other way around? Shouldn't a "new" Beatles song remind you why they conquered the world in the first place?
Focus on the Family cares more about spending money trying to hold back an inevitable historical tide than they do about the families of the people who work for them.
A thoughtful look at the influence of TRL over the what might be remembered as the final era of unified pop music.

It’s nice to see the Times taking the blame for their own irresponsible journalism. Obviously file sharing wouldn’t be a problem if the media didn’t spend so much time writing stories about it.
But seriously (siriusly?), Stern is doing a multi-hour long show on a daily basis. At some point it has to be easier to just subscribe to Sirius.
Sirius should embrace this as a form of free advertising.

Not necessarily. I mean, while Sirius should accept it as a form of free advertising, I’m not sure that for some former Stern listeners, it makes sense to subscribe to Sirius. For some, who never listened to the whole show from start to finish, I could see that they might want to read the daily recap on howardstern.com, and then download just that segment of the show. I’ve done that a couple of times from Usenet.
I’m not against satellite radio in any way, shape or form, but I never listened to Howard as my only option on my morning run and commute, but as one of a series of options including Kevin & Bean; my music players; Air America; & ESPN, and so I remain unsubscribed. Especially since XM has Major League Baseball, which like Howard is almost a killer app, but not quite. I’m still holding out for a solution that doesn’t make artificial distinctions between AM, FM, my own music; XM and Sirius.
